As the Team Leader of the Information Security (InfoSec) team, you will play a pivotal role in a dynamic and innovative environment committed to enhancing businesses' security posture and improving their infrastructure's security on cloud platforms. Your leadership will be instrumental in steering the team's efforts and direction.
In this role, you will leverage your skills and interests to drive strategic initiatives and innovations. Your responsibilities may include leading efforts to automate infrastructure scanning or defining the security architecture for infrastructure-as-code provisioning processes. However, the scope of your role is broader than these areas. You will have the flexibility to explore and implement new strategies that align with our security objectives. Your leadership will be vital in fostering a culture of continuous improvement and learning.

Roles & Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentored, and develop a team of information security professionals. This includes hiring, training, setting objectives, conducting performance reviews, and fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the team.
- Work with the team to implement effective and sustainable processes, including ways to ensure innovation, experimentation and continuous improvement.
- Partner with the project manager on prioritisation, forward planning, forecasting, tracking and progress reporting.Inspire the other team members and be someone who is respected by the team.
- Work actively to build good relationships and trust between the team and other stakeholders, embedding a ‘one Ocado’ approach.
- Manage upwards effectively, ensuring your Infosec Engineering Manager and CISO are informed of progress, celebrating team successes and making key risks visible.
- Set clear goals and expectations for team members, providing timely feedback to support their development and improve their performance.
- Set goals at a team level that cascade from the department goals.
- Coach team members and create a healthy environment that facilitates high-performing teams and is aligned with Ocado Values and Ocado Technology Principles.
- Efficiently allocate resources and manage the team's workload to ensure timely and effective delivery of security projects. Balance the team's work in operational tasks, strategic initiatives, and ongoing professional development.
- Provide technical leadership in the information security domain, guiding a team of engineers.
- Develop and implement strategic security initiatives in line with organisational objectives.
- Vulnerability Assessment & Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate common security vulnerabilities. Provide technical leadership in evaluating the severity and impact of various security threats.
- Security Monitoring and Cloud Environments: Oversee and enhance security monitoring practices, particularly in cloud environments like AWS and GCP. Ensure robust detection and response strategies are in place.
- Maintain an excellent understanding of the security community, toolsets, and knowledge sources—lead initiatives to stay ahead of emerging threats and technological advancements.
- Exhibit good verbal and written communication skills—articulating complex security concepts to various audiences.
- Demonstrate a meticulous approach to work, ensuring comprehensive and accurate solutions and responses.
- Show a proactive approach to information security, capable of managing multiple activities in a fast-paced environment. Adapt quickly to changing priorities and new security challenges.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships across various teams, fostering a collaborative environment and ensuring alignment of security practices with broader organisational goals.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- Expertise in Cloud Technologies: Deep familiarity with cloud applications and services, particularly with platforms like GCP and AWS, and understanding their inherent security challenges and solutions.
- Network Security Experience: Solid experience with networking, including designing, implementing, and securing network infrastructures.
- Demonstrate advanced knowledge and experience across multiple technical areas, including operating systems, software development, and private and public cloud infrastructures.
- Possess expert-level understanding and hands-on experience with Linux, SSL, HTTP, and fundamental networking (L3-L7). Deep knowledge of network security technologies like IDS/IPS, WAF, and firewalls.
- Technical Excellence & Continuous Learning: Demonstrates intellectual rigour, possesses advanced technical abilities, and shows a strong capacity for learning new skills and technologies swiftly.
- Innovation & Complex Problem-Solving: Exhibits a talent for solving intricate problems, continuously improving, and adapting others' ideas to create innovative security solutions.
- Productivity, Drive, and Achievement Orientation: Proactively drive projects and demonstrate strong accountability and ownership, with an ability to prioritise effectively in a dynamic environment.
