Our approach to wellbeing
At Ocado we have an integrated team looking after the wellbeing and inclusion of our people from a day to day standpoint. This team is led by our Global head of Wellbeing and Inclusion. To this team, data is a key unlock to understanding the health and wellbeing of our organisation and how it connects with the diversity of our people. For instance, to design, develop and create support that meets our diverse people needs needs we partner with them through listening and collaboration. The products and services we offer from a wellbeing perspective provide varying routes and pathways to match our belief in wellbeing being highly individualistic.
We also have embedded wellbeing into the employee lifecycle through the connection and integration with our People Management Principles which centre on three core areas - Deliver Results, Champion Talent and Actively Care. Through the actively care element of our principles we encourage role modelling and championing our values, promoting inclusivity and prioritising employee wellbeing. For us wellbeing is core element of being able to provide employees with work and opportunities that allow them to thrive.

Global Employee Assistance Programme (EAP)
Provides free professional and confidential support to all Ocado employees and dependents within your household, Available virtually and/or in person. 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year.
Wellbeing Platform
Offers employees and their dependents the ability to gain access to a variety of content, assessments and trackers to support their overall wellbeing.
Mental Wellbeing Champions
A network of 100+ champions globally that are equipped to provide our people with support in a safe, confidential and non-biased manner. We aim to have at least one champion in every site and country location that we operate in. This our way of integrating a more localised approach to mental health, ensuring relevance with what we may aim to do more broadly. All of our champions have been trained on mental health and continue to be upskilled via a development pathway that aims to provide them with knowledge and support across the vast array of topics that our employees experience from a wellbeing standpoint.
The Mental Health Community
In addition to our Health and Wellbeing Community, the Mental Health Community exists to provide a platform for peer-to-peer support in a safe and open forum, for anyone to lean in and share resources, tools, etc. Open conversation allows individuals to break taboos and really support one another.
Mental Health Matters bespoke training
Specifically designed to equip our people with the skills to better understand their mental health and gain the confidence to engage in open and honest conversations to offer or receive support. This learning is a two part series with one focused on all employees and another specifically targeted at managers. Each of our business areas sets targets centred on completion to support Ocado's wider commitment to Health and Wellbeing. These targets are monitored and reported on. To date we have had over 30% of our people complete these courses.

Navigating life changes
Life's always changing, but sometimes we face a big or sudden change that is harder to deal with - even if the change is expected or positive. Whatever your circumstance, we are here to support you.
Care journeys and toolkits
Highlight routes of support for circumstances that we know are important to our people such as policies, benefits, tools and resources that can direct you to better health. Our guides include: mental health, musculoskeletal, bereavement and cancer support.
Family policies
We have a variety of policies available to our employees to support them and their families. Such as, parental, shared parental and adoption leave. We also recently launched policies in support of parents and carers and neonatal support, which further aid our desire to support our people and their varying wellbeing needs.
Diverse policies
We recognise that our employees are all different and have varying requirements based on their circumstances. We spend time understanding our employees through our data and listening forums to collaborate and work on policies we know will support them. Policies recently launched that align with employees needs include menopause and fertility and transitioning at work. All of these policies are supported by comprehensive guides and toolkits to educate Managers supporting employees and the employees living these journeys.
Flexible working
We want to support our people with their varying needs, their mental health and their ability to connect and explore the world. This is supported by our Working from Anywhere policy, which allows our people to work from anywhere for a certain number of days a year.
