What You Will Do

As a Junior Maintenance Technician you will play an important part in supporting the operation, by providing 1st response to engineering fault conditions, reactive and planned maintenance activities as well as proactive improvement works.

  • Carrying out planned maintenance across the site in an accurate, timely, and safe manner ensuring maintenance procedures are followed
  • Update records of work activities, tasks carried out, parts used through stores, and training given
  • Perform assembly and sub-assembly repairs by following written work instructions, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Respond to and diagnose equipment breakdowns, resolving issues and actioning repairs
  • Perform daily housekeeping and cleaning duties of equipment
  • Analyze data to find solutions to improve MHE performance, providing reports where necessary
  • The role requires the candidate to work with other engineers (Maintenance Engineers and Senior Maintenance Engineers) on a daily basis learn the skills from them in the early weeks and then become competent in independently performing these duties that include (but are not limited to) repairing robots, repairing peripherals stations and working at height
  • Some travel will be required for the role to other sites to help accomplish the same tasks at other sites expected at the home site along with training courses held at other locations
  • Complete quality inspections to ensure work is completed to a safe standard

 

Who You Are

To qualify for this position, you must meet the following requirements:


  • Some technical ability and understanding relating to automation hardware and software would be preferred, but training can be given
  • A formal engineering-related qualification is highly preferred 
  • Demonstrable analytical skills with sound problem-solving ability
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, able to impart knowledge effectively to others
  • Good organization skills, able to prioritize
  • Knowledge of control systems would also be preferred
  • This role involves working at heights using a variety of access equipment, so technicians need to be comfortable working at heights
  • Please note this role is shift-based to support the 24/7 operation of the CFC

    This role will require flexibility due to the facility being a 24/7 operation and a shift pattern will be utilized that will require working days, nights, and weekends.

 

Physical Activities: 

  • Ascending or descending ladders and stairs. 
  • Moving between worksites to accomplish tasks in tight and confined spaces. 
  • Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for a prolonged period. 
  • Adjusting or moving objects up to 30 pounds in all directions. Work that includes moving objects up to 100 pounds or more. 
  • Communicating with others to exchange information. 

 

Environmental Conditions: 

  • Low temperatures and noisy environments. 

 

Location

You will be based at the customer fulfillment center in Charlotte, North Carolina, however, there could be up to 50-75% travel requirements to other fulfillment center locations.
