Product Engine is the centre of our Shop department, providing all of the necessary product data to other clusters and departments, along with making those details searchable via our full service Search OSP Product.
Cookies focus on our Core domain, working on Search infrastructure, migrating to a new OpenSearch Managed solution, building a new Simulation Engine allowing full feature offline testing as well as collaborating closely with both the Matching and Ranking teams.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Working with the team to maintain and build good relationships and trust, both within the team and with other stakeholders, embedding a “one Ocado” approach.
- Collaborating with team members to iterate on your processes and practices, constantly striving to find the way of working that fits your team best.
- As a member of the Cluster leadership team, work with others to improve processes and reduce friction where you spot inefficiencies or issues.
- Supporting the personal development, goal setting and career growth of your team of engineers to help them reach their full potential.
- Responsible and accountable for the delivery of the team, working with the team to mitigate risks and clear blockers, while keeping Product and Engineering leadership informed.
- Maintaining a well-considered Jira plan of capabilities, factoring in the team’s capacity, alignment with Product Managers and any other priorities.
- Collaborate with the team to understand and prioritise technical improvements, balancing with delivering business goals.
- Support the team in the delivery of solutions that are well-tested and of high technical quality, creating an environment where team members feel a sense of pride and ownership of the work they produce.

- Previous leadership experience
- Technical experience with relevant toolsets (Java, PostgreSQL / RDS, DynamoDB, Hollow, ECS, SNS/SQS, Kinesis)
