About the role:
The operations performance team is responsible for supporting the operations team working closely with them to improve the performance and efficiency of the Zoom by Ocado operation. The Excellence Manager sits within the Operations Performance team and will own the improvements roadmap across both last mile and warehouse for Zoom and drive efficiencies across all 5 pillars. This role will also project manage the operational site set up of any new Zoom by Ocado warehouse.

The typical working schedule is 40 hours spread across 5 days from Monday to Friday. This position is a hybrid role, requiring travel to both our Head Office and Zoom Sites.

You will be:
The Zoom Excellence Manager will use data analytics to identify areas of improvement within both warehouse and last-mile operations. Creating a comprehensive roadmap of improvements, and categorising them into short-term enhancements and longer-term strategic or structural changes is a pivotal part of the role. Furthermore, they are responsible for justifying proposed improvements by assessing their impact on operating budgets and assessing the cost versus benefit. Assuming responsibility for improvement projects stands as a pivotal facet of this role, as the Zoom Excellence Manager is tasked with meticulously defining project timelines, pinpointing essential resources, and generating all relevant documentation encompassing project charters and business cases. The responsibilities extend to efficiently managing projects within budget constraints, keeping stakeholders informed and ensuring timely delivery of projects while also providing detailed reports on outcomes compared to initial expectations will be a responsibility.

In addition to implementing changes, the Zoom Excellence Manager will provide ongoing support to ensure adherence to new processes, well-understood, and on-ground teams are effectively trained. Moreover, they will establish stage gate and auditing checks to monitor compliance and drive engagement with changes, ensuring their effective execution and sustainability over time. Collaborating closely with the platform implementation team to oversee the successful launch of all new Zoom by Ocado sites. The responsibilities include coordinating various facets of the launch process, ensuring a seamless transition and adherence to established standards. This underscores the importance of possessing crucial project management skills for effective execution in this role.

Minimum:

  • Proficient in handling large datasets to identify improvement areas through data analysis.
  • Demonstrated clear and concise communication skills in various formats such as presentations, memos, and white papers.
  • Experience collaborating with stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Familiarity with budgeting processes and conducting cost-benefit analyses.
  • Previous experience in Project Management or continuous improvement initiatives.

Preferred (in addition to minimum)

  • Proven track record of suggesting improvements through data analysis.
  • Ability to break down complex problems into their component parts.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in persuading stakeholders about the efficacy of improvement projects.
  • 3-4 years of experience in managing projects or leading continuous improvement initiatives.
