About the role

Ocado Group are seeking an Enterprise Risk Manager to join our Risk Team within our Governance Risk and Compliance function to support the Head of Risk. You will work to develop and maintain our risk management policies and processes, embedding the capabilities needed to support multiple departments and mission areas internationally. The Risk Manager will be accountable for helping to link the Group’s risk management approach to the delivery of its strategic objectives. The right candidate will be someone who is agile, show resilience and be able to influence work practices and control implementations across the business. Playing a critical role in a small risk team, the role will give you freedom to embed all risk measuring activities and you will be accountable for improving the quality of processes across the Ocado Group, internationally. Ideally you will also have experience supporting an organisation embed ESG and Sustainability initiatives including reporting and risk assessments.


  • Develop and maintain Group Risk Management policies and processes globally and drive and embed a consistent risk management process for all areas of the business
  • Maintain Principal and Key Risks 
  • Investigation of current risks and identify potential risks affecting the company to ensure our principal and key risks are inline with strategic objectives
  • Tailoring risk reporting to the relevant audience including preparation of reporting for the Risk Committee on various risk matters
  • Embed risk management into the development of our strategy 
  • Maintain and embed risk appetite to improve operational resolutions and efficiency
  • ESG and Sustainability risk
  • Enhance awareness of the risk management function across the business and capability development - via formal briefings and day to day interaction
  • Developing training and user guides - to enhance and set risk informed conclusions
  • Managing stakeholder relationships at all levels of an organisation, including senior executives and operational managers

Deep Dives 

  • Lead principal risk deep dives to improve the effectiveness of our management of risk
  • Facilitate risk workshops - working with stakeholders to surface risks and develop innovative mitigation strategies
  • Mitigation - Work with the business to identify control weaknesses and support in monitoring key areas of risk. 
  • Support ESG and Sustainability projects, reporting and initiatives for the Group, including with supporting risk processes.
About you
  • Ideally you will have worked in operational or enterprise risk management in Industry at a FTSE 250 or providing advisory services to FTSE 250 from Big "4"
  • Previous experience in a similar role and relevant professional qualification
  • Strong commercial awareness and interpersonal skills
  • Be able to contribute to the growth and development of the risk team
  • Previous knowledge of using data insight to drive change
  • Able to bring ideas and innovation into how we manage risk for strategic advantage
  • Experience of ESG risk management
