About the role:
As a Principal Analyst, we are looking for someone with deep analytics skills who can deliver insight into complex business problems through data analysis and visualization. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in data and analytics to apply forecasting and optimisation techniques, empowering strategic and operational decision-making and improvement.
You will lead pivotal data and analytics projects, providing guidance, support and mentorship to junior team members, while acting as a role model for the team. You will be:
In this role, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive data support to stakeholders within the Logistics domain, as well as across various other areas of the business as needed. This includes conducting data analysis, designing reports, facilitating data-driven decision-making processes and developing and testing forecasting and optimisation models. Your responsibilities will extend to driving improvements in key performance indicators through trend analysis and root cause investigation, as well as contributing to or leading cross-departmental projects with significant data or analytics components. As a mentor, you will guide junior team members and provide ongoing training and support to the team as a whole. Furthermore, you will manage complex stakeholder relationships on behalf of the team and stay informed about advancements in data and analytics technology, taking the lead in implementing these advancements within the team.
The ideal candidate should possess significant proven experience as a Data Analyst (minimum of 3 years), preferably within a logistics or retail setting, along with strong data analysis and problem-solving skills. Essential technical skills include a high proficiency in SQL and strong Python ability. Experience in constructing forecasting and/or optimization models, as well as using and building BI tools, particularly Tableau, is preferred. Other essential qualifications include a keen eye for commercial detail, the ability to collaborate effectively in operationally critical activities, excellent communication skills, and the capacity to lead teams in delivering significant projects using data and analysis. Moreover, the ideal candidate should have a graduate-level education or equivalent demonstrable experience, a proactive attitude, self-management skills, effective time management abilities, strong interpersonal skills, and the capability to communicate effectively with colleagues at all organizational levels. Excellent stakeholder management, mentoring, and leadership skills are also desired attributes. In addition, you may be required to occasionally visit various CFC sites across the UK
